Christmas meetup

I might be a bit late with this, but last weekend was  held a Christmas themed BJD meetup at Helsinki.
Of course, since we are talking about me, I forgot my camera home. 8D
It was a pity, because Christmas meetups are always so pretty and many dolls have Christmas themed clothes, and of course there is proper props too. There was also lots of people, and it was very nice to see dolly people again. :3

Even thought I forgot my real camera I had my phone camera, so I took few pics with it. :)

We have to start with this. Because this is pure awesomeness.
The doll is owned by Sargonnas, and I think it is named Morbus Bonesniffer.
Doll Chateau Faramita is the mold. I kind of liked the companys version too,
but Sargonnas has made hers so pwetty. 8D

LDoll post~

It has been 4 days since I came back to Finland from France. LDoll was held at last weekend, but we were in Lyon from Friday to Tuesday with two of my friends, Glorry and Karkki. :) There was also a bunch of other Finns attending the event, few of them even had an sales table there. It was my first trip to anywhere by plane, and I have to say that my first trip couldn't have been better. 8)

We saw, of course, lots and lots of dolls and dolly people! We didn't talk with the local people too much because of the language barrier (I don't speak French ;__;), but in the end it didn't matter so much. There was so much to see, and more importantly, to buy. 8D And Lyon was great city too, we spent one hole day exploring around, and at the evening we ate somewhere or visited shopping mall etc.

!If you see a picture of yourself, your doll or something that you would like to see removed, just contact me!

LDoll was held in Lyon, at Double Mixte. 8)
Where is everyone? D: Lining inside! 8D

New dolls! 8O

Literally new dolls, since Monster High dolls are totally new to me. :)
I have been thinking of buying one of those for a while. I was interested about customizing of MH dolls, but I hadn't found any pics of customized ones or even plain body pictures to see how they look under the clothes. Anyway, last week I saw Fairchildren's blog post about her customized Ghoulia and I was like, that's it, it can be done! 8D Fairchildren has very pretty custom Ghoulia, go to see her blog if you are interested. :)
I was worried if it is hard to remove the heavy face-up what the MH dolls have. They are mostly meant for kids anyway and not for customizing.

I was thinking of getting either Lagoona Blue or Clawdeen Wolf, but when I went to actually buy the doll I didn't find either of them. 8( I visited two local stores selling Monster High dolls. I ended up to buy Cleo de Nile, since she was my third option and Prisma was selling those cheaper versions Dead Tired-series. I got the last Cleo de Nile from there. 8) Only others they had were Draculaura and Ghoulia.

Pretty night picture of the box.
It's not yellow, you only think so, yeah. :p
The doll and what she came with. Wow, a dolly stand. :p

The only thing I wanted from the package was the actually doll, so the other stuff doesn't really matter for me. That is the reason why I chose the cheaper Dead Tired version. x)
Today when I was actually home when there was some daylight I took some better pics of the doll. Mostly to show the body. Maybe someone finds these useful. :) I tried to look for body pics before buying the doll but didn't find any.

OMG naked dolly!
Let's see how long Photobucket keeps these...

The most stupid thing in my opinnion -  the high heeled legs.
No ankle joint, no anything... The doll can't stand on it's own without high heeled shoes.

The body is very pretty. First I was surprised about the shape of the back, but now when I have been handling the doll more I kind of like it. And it is pretty in a way. :) Also these don't have too huge boobs or anything.

She can do some pretty posing -  in sitting position.
Standing too but only with the damn high heeled shoes...
The shape of the back... Is meant for this pose. xD
Close up the the face. Make-up looks very heavy. @__@

I'm not sure yet what to do with this one, since originally I had customization plans for Lagoona. I will buy Lagoona later when I find one. :) This one will be more like a test piece. I will remove the face-up and try to do a new one. I just have to find some time to do it. :D My next day off is next weekend so that is the earliest. I'm not sure do I want to wipe off the eyes. I don't think that I can actually paint so well that I would be able to paint new eyes for her. I'll have to see what to do with her. @__@ Maybe I will ask Linda if she would like to try painting eyes for doll. She is a skilled painter, at least what comes to small figures and such. :)

I have another new doll too. x)
Those who follow my Twitter might remember my tweets about Pullip Lan Ake I bought from LJ. She has now arrived. :)
I got her second hand and the doll came without a box, clothes or stand. It had Lan Ake's stock wig, eyechips and face up. Body wasn't stock, she came with Obitsu body. 8)

Here is the dolly. Crappy pic, but no can do. :D The wig isn't in the greatest shape, but no matter. I will get her a different one anyway. Also the eyechips I might change later but I'm not sure about that yet. Also, she arrived naked and that Baribie dress was the only piece of cloth that did fit her... 8D Damn, one more doll in need of clothes.

Wow the size difference... I prefer Dal more! D8
I had bought a wig that I planned for the Lan Ake... But surprise, it was too small! Yanagi is now wearing it temporarily, since her own stock wig is starting to be rather worn out (oh, the quality...). I need to get new wigs now for both of them. Maybe I can buy those from LDoll..? I might take Lan Ake with me to try the wig on there, since the size I thought would fit was totally too small. Or now I can measure the head since I actually have the doll. 8)
Lan Ake also needs a name, but I think that I will decide it after I get her to look like I want her to be.

Jaco! And storage problem solved.

Day of joy, Jaco got some suitable pants today!

They look pretty coool and fit perfectly. :3

Ya... He has been sitting on a shelf too long time...

Jaco needs more clothes. Poor boy has only those that are on him at the moment. And only one pair of shoes, so more of those too. I'm also starting to consider if I should someday update Jaco into a double jointed body, because it would make posing much better. Not it is very limited with that old old Dream of Doll body. But I'm afraid that the new DoD resin color won't match to the old head at all. 8( Well, I have to think about it anyway.

I have been having problems of keeping all my dolly stuff organized. Mostly it is my own fault because I'm so messy person. I had all the clothes and stuff held in the boxes of which my dolls had arrived in, which was maybe good way to store, but everything was so messed up inside them... I saw LadyNancy's tip at Finnish Pullip forums about how she uses minigrip bags for storing dolly clothes. (Like it wouldn't have came in my thought before... I'm so simple person.) Well, I thought that: great, maybe I'll try it too! 8D But it didn't quite remove the fact that I still had to dig around the boxes to find the correct bag. But helped a lot anyway.

Last week I went to Ikea, and bought a cool storage system. That was meant for shoes, but who cares! 8D I bought four boxes separately. Let's see my current storaging system for doll clothes and stuff! :3

The thing is hanging in my wardrobe, hence no pics that would show more...
I labelled the boxes by what is inside them. Like Pullip stuff, petite girls, Matoko, tiny stuff...8D

Everything inside the boxes is stored in minigrip bags.
Also labeled because it was fun. 8D

The top part is without boxes, but I had to make labels anyway...
Got addicted to labels, shouldn't have even started that.

Now I hope that my dolly stuffs will stay in better order and in good shape. Without cat hairs also! 8D
While I was at it I went through all the doll clothes I threw away some very old crappy ones and things that none of my dolls actually hadn't used ever. Mostly those very some of my own early sewing tryouts. :D Now I also know better what my dolls have and what they are missing. And the fact that Matoko has the biggest wardrobe... He was the only one who got a box only for himself. In the other hand Jaco only has that one set of clothes, and also the MSD girls could use some real dresses and pretty shoes. And my petite girls are also missing shoes. Jamila has none, and Shia only too big ones. 8(

Obitsu hybrid for Nagi

Parcel day~ Two girls waiting. What could it be?

Hard bust Obitsu for Nagi, and shoes for her and Shia. :)
Shias shoes vere too big, but it was no surprise.
It is extremely hard to find shoes for her. 8(

Dal stock body, hard bust Obitsu, SBH-M Obitsu

Wow... Seems like my SBH-M Obitsu is a bit bigger than the others! Did I have 25cm body without knowing it? x) Well, doesn't matter. Yanagi wont be using that one anymore. I decided to try out am hybrid body with Dal's stock body and hard bust Obitsu. I noticed people doing that in doll forums and YouTube had bunch of tutorials about the hybrid making. This video is a good tutorial in case that you are wondering what this is about. The thing is to change Dal's own chest piece into Obitsu body. This can be only done with the hard bust, that's why my SBH was a bad choice to begin with. Having Dal's own chest piece guarantees a non-floppy head, which is great and the main reason why I wanted to do the hybrid instead of using just the Obitsu as it is. The neck area feels more secure and sturdy when the head fits to it perfectly. Dal's chest piece fits quite well to the Obitsu body, so the hybrid might be the best choise as a body for your Dal. :)

I kind of overdid taking apart the Obitsu. x)
But I wanted to see how it was build! 8D

Done the swap~

The result might not be as pretty as plain Obitsu, but I think that Yanagi will be having clothes on all the time anyway. :p The color difference between the parts is quite big. Dals are so white compared to Obitsu, even thought my Obitsu is trying to be white skin too. But this hybrid works so well that I will totally keep it. :)

PS. Yanagi and Shia look so so weird together!

Obitsufying!

Funny things those Dals. I put my new dolly apart to switch her eyechips and change her into Obitsu body. It was a bit scary, since it was my first time doing anything with Dal. I was able to do it anyway, so it wasn't too complicated. :)

My Dal Coco victim on the left, new body on the right.
New Coolcat eyechips on top right. :3

Dewigged!
It wasn't too easy, those wigs are glued on with some _very_ good glue.

Huge glueblop on the back side! Took of the skrews from head.

Scary eyemech. D:< Pullips eyemech is more complicated thought.
And luckily I didn't have to touch to it too much.

Fake eyelids! 8D

Eyes when old chips are taken out.

New chips in! Looks much better. :)

And with her new Obitsu body and eyes on!

Added wig and clothes and went out for pics.

I decided to name her Yanagi, with nickname Nagi. :)
Yanagi means willow tree in Japanese, as far as I know.
Did or not, I think it is pretty name anyway. :3

Dall Coco arrived :)

Supriseee! :O

My Dal Coco arrived yesterday. When I got the arrival note from post office I thought it was the Gryffindor tie I ordered some time ago, because the note was labellet "big envelope". I thought that okaa I will pick the tie up from post office before taking my train to Helsinki.

Well, that was a mistake, because from post office I got this:

Clearly not an "big envelope", what do they think at the post office?!? I thought tha tI can easily carry that tie with me when I go to Helsinki, but not this... This didn't fit in my bag so I had to carry it in my hands. xD But it is my Dal! Dal! So of course I was exited even thought it wasn't the tie like I believed.

Thihihii I had to see inside the box in the train. :3

Seacupcake clothes pic at the back side of the box!

oka I got rid of the brown box at the railway station
and carried it with me like this instead.

Cutie. :3 Glorry liked it too when I met her.
Maybe she will get Pullips too. 8D

I took the doll out of the box at Glorry's place.

B-Day party! Clearly. Chocolate cake and Coke. Yay.

Today's project will be chancing her into Obitsu body and switching the new eyechips in. Wish me luck, I have never do that!
Also, she heeds a name! DD:

Items waiting for the Dal

I received my Mollamania order today~
So now I have Obitsu body and new eyechips waiting for my Dal Coco to arrive.
I'm very happy about the color of the chips that I chose. The color is more pretty IRL than in pictures. They are Coolcat eyechips with two colors in them, dark slate blue and deep sea blue. I think that eyes with two shades of color look a bit more realistic than eyes with just only one shade.

The SBH Obitsu body is really pretty, which is the main reason why I chose it over the hard bust body. But after handling it for a while and trying posing it I started to consider ordering the hard bust body too. I knew that they are not the same what comes to posing, but still I wanted to go with the SBH body. The tummy of the SBH body isn't too pretty when bending the body. You don't even need to bend it much for the tummy to kind of slob. It slobs a bit even in basic poses like sitting. :p

When in basic sitting position, the body slumbs a bit from the sides.
Not bad, and might not be so visible with clothes on.
From side it almost looks like the doll is pregnant. x)
If you bend a bit more forward... Well, it looks like this.
The body can't keep that position by itself anyway,
it bounces back to the straight position.
I don't know yet how this body behaves with the huge head of Dal or Pullip, but from the pics that I have seen from other people it can at least do some basic standing and sitting without falling. I have heard that the hard bust body is a bit floppy from the joints with the heavy Pullip head, but I think that this one is too.
Well, we'll see. I might order the hard bust body to and make a good comparison with the bodies. Then I'll decide which body type I prefer using. I might stick with this SBH body because it is pretty, and then just avoid doing any bending poses. :D

Also I have made few crochet hats for the newcomer. Shia is kindly posing with one of them, even thought the hat is too big for her. In addition to this bunny hat I have a bear hat and Domo-kun hat, but they are still missing some of the details so no pics of those yet. :)

I hope that this fits Dal better than Dollzone BB. :)

Peekaboo!

Dal Coco! And pics of Matoko.

I ordered Dal Coco this morning. I found it from eBay. I dunno is that rare to find or not, but at least I haven't seen too many around. Pullistyle haven't had them available for all the time I have been following that site. I don't wonder why, the stock outfit of Coco's is so weird... But I hope that the girl under there is cute anyway. :3 Also I placed an order for Obitsu body for the Dal. I'm not too fond of the bodies of Pullip dolls, so I have been planning to go with Obitsu from the beginning. SBH bodies are quite pretty, and pose better according to what I have read. Maybe I can take comparison pics when I have the doll and the body.

The Obitsu body I got was with medium bust instead of the small bust that I originally planned. There was no small busts in white skin when I was browsing eBay, and no luck from Mollamania (Finnish dealer) either. :( So I ended up with M bust. I hope it is not too bad. I ordered it from Mollamania, and also included blue eyechips to my order. They are for the Coco too, I'm not too fond of the stock chips of Coco's. I just hope that I don't ruin it's eyes when trying to change the chips. :O

And some Matoko pics from our summer cottage trip, as promised in my previous entry. :3

Matoko! Setting out for a trip!
With his favorite froggy hat and weird orange bag...
Trip to the lake!

Shoes alone on the rock! Where did Matoko go?

He seems to be testing the water. Maybe he is going to swim?
Thank you for visiting our blog!

I'll tell you a secret... After that last pic, Matoko fell with his face down to the water... All his clothes got wet. :F I knew that would happen, it's always like that. With no exceptions when I have been taking pics with water, the doll has gotten more wet than planned!
